Meet our Support Group Co-host!

BLACK DIABETIC GIRL

Kylene was misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes in August 2010. In May 2011, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She became an advocate in the diabetes community, focusing on the diversity and inclusion of people with diabetes in the Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Indigenous communities. Missing representation Kylene wanted to create items that would allow women to express themselves. She is a speaker, the founder of Blackdiabetic Girl, host of the diabetes podcast Chatting with Everyday Diabetics, and is the Dope Diabetic Girls Club's co-founder. Kylene is also pursuing her degree in Social Work.
