Biography
Tired of feeling lost or struggling with blood sugar management? Let’s simplify your diabetes care.
Hi, I’m Madi! I’m a registered dietitian, certified health education specialist, diabetes coach, and founder of Type One Type Fun, LLC (instagram @Type.One.Type.Fun). With over 4 years of experience helping individuals with diabetes, my passion lies in simplifying diabetes management so you can live a fuller life while achieving optimal blood sugar control.
What You Can Expect:
In our sessions, you’ll get personalized advice tailored to your needs, whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing Type 1 diabetes for years. We’ll work together on strategies to help you manage your blood sugars confidently, while also enjoying your favorite activities and foods. My approach is supportive, evidence-based, and practical, ensuring you leave each session with clear steps to improve your management, reduce stress, and enhance your quality of life.
Areas of Focus:
I specialize in Type 1 diabetes management, including advanced (yet simplified) carb counting, insulin dosing strategies, and blood sugar management for optimizing exercise. I also offer coaching for navigating emotional burnout, handling social situations, and managing diabetes during travel or holidays. If you’re looking to take your diabetes management to the next level, we could be a great fit!
My Credentials:
I hold a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from the University of Alabama. I’ve been a featured speaker in international forums, including guest lectures and top diabetes podcasts. I’ve worked with athletes, CEOs, and families across the globe, providing real-life strategies that make a difference.
On a Personal Note:
As someone living with Type 1 diabetes myself, I understand the daily challenges of managing this condition. Outside of work, I love being in nature, hiking, and experimenting in the kitchen—especially when it comes to managing my blood sugar while indulging in my love for Italian food.
Why I Do This:
I became a dietitian and diabetes educator because I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate outdated advice or feel misunderstood by healthcare providers. My goal is to give you the tools and confidence to take control of your diabetes so you can stop feeling restricted by it and start living fully.
If you're ready for a change and want to approach diabetes management from a place of empowerment, I’d love to work with you!
