Populations Served
I am best positioned to support children and adolescents (especially teens), who may be navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the emotional impact of living with chronic health conditions. I feel particularly drawn to working with adolescents who are open to exploring their thoughts, behaviors, and experiences, and how these shape their lives.
I aim to create a warm, supportive, and empathetic space where children and teens feel seen and understood, and gently encouraged in their journey of self growth. Therapy is a space for building insight, strengthening confidence, and becoming a more grounded version of themselves, at their own pace. Through this work, clients learn effective coping skills to foster a stronger sense of identity, self-worth, and emotional resilience.
Focus Areas
- Support children and teens (ages 10–17) living with diabetes, focusing on diabetes distress, anxiety, depression, non-suicidal self-injury, and body image concerns.
- Use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients cope with what they cannot control, clarify values, and take meaningful steps toward a full, engaged life.
- Apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to reframe unhelpful diabetes-related thinking.
- Incorporate mindfulness to build present-moment awareness, reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and respond more calmly to challenges.
- Collaborate with families to improve communication, reduce conflict, and create a supportive, team-based approach to diabetes care.
Biography
Hi, I’m Lacee Musgrove, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing virtual therapy for children and teens ages 10–17.
I specialize in supporting children and teens living with diabetes, as well as anxiety, depression, chronic suicidal ideation, and self-harm behaviors. I help youth build coping skills to manage stress and develop the emotional resilience needed to navigate both mental health and medical challenges. I also work closely with parents to support compassionate, effective responses at home.
