Biography

I’m a bilingual Nutritionist, DCES, and Board-Certified Health Coach who has been living with type 1 diabetes since 1995. My mission is to empower people living with diabetes to feel more confident and balanced in their daily lives through evidence-based nutrition, mindfulness in diabetes, and culturally sensitive education.

Through Healthy Diabetes, I provide 1:1 coaching, courses, workshops, and resources that integrate nutrition counseling, diabetes education, and mindful practices. I create materials, books, and programs that are especially designed for the Spanish-speaking community, aiming to bridge gaps in access to inclusive, empowering care.

I am the author of Soy Diferente y me Gusta, a children’s book about the importance of acceptance when living with diabetes, and co-author of Había una vez una Diabetes, which addresses diabetes burnout. Both books were selected to be part of Breakthrough T1D’s Bag of Hope and the No Limits Teen Care Kit. I also co-authored the chapter Evaluation of the State of Nutrition in Special Conditions in the book Evaluation of the State of Nutrition in the Human Life Cycle by the Mexican Association of Members of Faculties and Schools of Nutrition (AMMFEN).

Additionally, I have contributed to several key translations that make diabetes education more accessible in Spanish, including Think Like a Pancreas, Rufus Comes Home, and the Rosie the Warrior series.

My professional experience includes serving as Senior Project Manager for Hispanic Properties at Beyond Type 1 and collaborating with organizations such as ADA, ADCES, JDRF (now Breakthrough T1D), IDF, and other international diabetes organizations.

I am deeply passionate about serving the Hispanic/Latino community impacted by diabetes, creating spaces of trust and empathy, and helping people build sustainable habits so they can live with more energy, and confidence.
